BIOGRAPHY

Megan Metcalf is an artist based in Margate. Known for her vibrant coastal sketches, reportage style live illustration, bold collages and paintings, Megan's art is characterful and full of life. She loves to depict and celebrate everyday scenes and things that may usually be overlooked. Her work can be seen in shops and restaurants all over Margate, while her prints and cards celebrate Margate’s quirkiness.

Megan studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design. For over 12 years she was a Creative Research professional and a Colour Material Designer. Since moving to Margate 8 years ago she has developed her distinct style which runs through a range of mediums including painting, illustration, collage, and murals. She works from her studio in Cliftonville. 

Megan also runs a live illustration business, drawing live at events and celebrations, depicting in her unique way all the stories to be cherished from life’s milestone events like weddings and christenings.

Megan’s warm approach and inclusive style means she loves exploring how art can be practiced at any age with any ability for positive mental health. Above all it’s about finding mindful moments and having a bit of fun!
